Collateral Damage

As I was heading up I65 in Alabama, the car ahead of me clipped a piece of debris that was in the shoulder of the road, and launched it right in front of my car. I think it was about ½ of a pickup truck bed-liner or something of like consistency. I smashed through it...there was nothing else to do...and it dented the hood of my car, scraped up the bumper, and took out part of the front grill. It's not too bad. I was fine, and it was pushed off to the side of the road again, so nobody else hit it.

I stopped and called the cops. I figured the insurance company would want some sort of police report. They asked me the normal stuff over the phone...where I was? Any injuries? Make/model of my car? My full name? Whether I was black or white? WHAT??? Yeah, they actually asked me point blank if I was black or white! Oh yeah, I'm in the South, aren't I? Scary. What difference would that have made in the way they respond to the call??? I don't think I wan to know.

Never thought I'd see a BMW with character, but you've done it. I'd like to see grey primer on it by the time you return. I know a GREAT body shop in Studio City, CA if you're coming back that way.
